    Maud, sorry to hear about your condition, i think we are in the same boat. i was told i have degenerative disc and ostioarthritis in my thoracic spine between my sholder blades. the pain is awfull and no matter what i do nothing is helping. just wondering is degenerative disc the same as a rupture. please email to tammyjeanine66@yahoo.com. i do hope you can find some comfort.

    don’t do any bending or twisting. I just made my injury worse and now it spread to my abdominal region. i was dumb and didn’t know i had a thoracic injury for 4 years. i assumed i had a typical back injury. i can only perform basic exercises without weights but no more dam bending and twisting. squats now hurt it.     Sadly been to about ten NHS physios and all only have knowledge of lower back exercises and generic moves. All insist I do these – even when can result in up to five days pain as a consequence. There is little help out there for us who have upper back – thoratic disc rupture. I have now been in constant pain for 1.5 years – and don’t know where to turn next. I can not afford private physio help – and am not sure that would offer the solution as the knowledge appears to not be there. Even sites online I have found for thoratic disc rupture link through to rehab exercises are actually specific to lower back. The numerous twisting and repetitive moves suggested have most definately been much more harm than good in my case. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Where to seek help that is intelligent to my condition and not just a jumble of lower back moves?????????
